Seven Decades and Counting

You can’t write the history of the Blanchard and Calhoun family of businesses without mentioning the many families in the family of businesses. However, a major chapter can be written on the Moss family. John Marvin Moss, Jr. was born on the fourth of July, attended the Citadel, served his country during World War II, married the love of his life, raised four Eagle Scouts, and devoted 47 of his 89 beautiful years to managing and shaping our company’s insurance agency. John’s son, Preston, is the current president of Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance Agency, Inc. and has been with the company over 39 years. Preston’s older brother, Larry, led the Augusta Mortgage Company for more than 39 years. Youngest brother, Morris, Senior Vice President, has been with the company 33 years and his son, Hampton, Account Manager, also works in the agency, continuing the legacy. Three generations. Seven decades and counting. Here’s to the Moss men – our colleagues, our friends, our fellow fishermen, our family. We couldn’t do it without you.
