Scouts Honor

On our honor: Blanchard and Calhoun’s Eagle Scouts

Ask a man if he was an Eagle Scout, and he’ll tell you he IS an Eagle Scout. The achievement, the highest recognized by the Boy Scouts of America, is not simply a rank; it is a state of being, a mindset, a lifelong commitment to being helpful to others and doing the right thing. Only four percent of Boy Scouts earn the honor. Preston Moss, long-time president of our insurance agency, is an Eagle Scout as is his younger brother, Morris, who serves as executive vice president. Their older brother, Larry, led our mortgage company for more than 30 years. He’s an Eagle Scout, too. And Kevin McDougal, the current president of Augusta Mortgage? Yep. Eagle Scout. On our honor. All scouts strive to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, brave, thrifty, and kind.
