What do James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, and Carolyn Gardner, top producing real estate agent, have in common?

They both knew that in the early 1970s, when Gardner joined the Blanchard and Calhoun sales team, that it was “a man’s man’s man’s world.” Much has changed in the industry over the past half-century, including the demographics of the nation’s residential real estate market, which is now dominated by women.

Today, on National Women’s Day, we celebrate the contributions of Carolyn Gardner and other “women of this calibre” – because while they recognized it was a man’s world, they also knew “it would be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl.”
